honest review of Life with MY sister

Boring and tedious...
"Christopher Ciccone's recollections of the complicated relationship with his sister were ultimately diluted by what is quite possibly the most poorly edited book I've ever read.

That aside, it's no secret that Madonna is cold and calculating; she's done little to endear her legions of fans during the last 25 years, so it's not surprising that she takes little interest in the well-being of her family. She is who she is and it sounds like she's been that way since she was a child - so why write about it now? I would have loved to have seen some sort of a point or resolution on the author's part.

Ultimately, the book tries to be too many things without ever reaching an effective climax or goal because the author spends far too much time trying to enlist the sympathy of the reader; an ineffective endeavor on his part (because it's likely true that Mr. Ciccone would not have had the opportunities he had without the link to his famous sister).

In the end, there are no shocking revelations here and Mr. Ciccone just ends up sounding whiny and martyr-like. He craves the spotlight and attention as much as Madonna (he even admits as much), yet it's clear that his inability to achieve success (in any realm he attempts) is the driving motivation of his 'poor me' book."
